Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) can deeply impact one's life. It's characterized by intrusive, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) that people feel driven to perform. These thoughts and behaviors can often be taboo or feel shameful, creating a cycle of anxiety and distress, and making everyday tasks feel overwhelming.
However, there is hope. OCD is highly treatable with the right approach. The gold-standard treatment for OCD is Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy that helps individuals confront their fears in a safe, structured way, reducing the power of obsessions and the need to perform compulsions. Anxiety is also a life-altering condition, treated in much the same way, with some slight alterations.
As a specialist in OCD and anxiety, I am intensively trained in ERP and dedicated to providing compassionate, effective care. It is important to me that we develop a plan for therapy that involves your own goals and with you at the wheel the entire time, at your pace. My goal is to support you in breaking free from the grips of OCD, helping you regain control and live a life aligned with your values.
